"Komfovent Control" application connection CLOUD

Connect AHU to the network router with Internet access and check is DHCP activated in the control panel (see Advanced Settings → Connectivity) to assign a free IP address. Launch a “Komfovent Control” app in your smartphone (phone must have Internet access). When connecting for the first time, you will have to enter the device ID number or scan a QR code located on the front of the controller board (see “Installation Manual”) or on the AHU door. If the unit and smartphone are on the same local network, ID of the AHU is also possible to find using Wi-Fi. Press the search symbol and “Read QR code” button to scan a QR code. Smartphone camera is activated. Then simply point the camera to the QR code and the unit ID will appear automatically. Instead of QR code reading, to find an ID on the local network, press corresponding button in the same menu.

Enter the password user in the second row. If you have changed the user password in the computer, use the new password also for the “Komfovent Control” app. Enter all the required data, press CONNECT and wait for the device to connect. If app is used for the first time, You will be prompted to read and accept privacy policy (see Apendix No. 1). When connection is established, You will be asked to enter AHU name. Doing so is important if more units will be controlled from the same app, since all the connection settings will be stored and next time, different units can be easily accessed by pressing button “Select from list”.

“Komfovent Control” app remembers ID and password of the last connected AHU, so next time just press “Connect” button to get access to the same unit. Most of “Komfovent Control” app and C6.1 control panel screens are very similar, so you can follow the chapter “C6.1 Control Panel” to perform necessary changes or settings. Additionally in the app it is possible to synchronize AHU time, change connection password or to connect to other unit, which was saved in the list. All these options are available in the “Settings” screen.

“Komfovent Control” app may not work, if router and/or firewall does not support UDP protocol.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIOS (FAQ)

  1. Scaning QR code from the sticker on the AHU door, does not redirect to the “Komfovent Control” app download page.

QR code from the sticker on the AHU door should not redirect to app download page. QR code is for original ID number of the AHU. Look for “Komfovent Control” app on “Google Play” or “App Store” websites.

  1. Cannot find any AHU by using “Find ID on local network” option
  • Possible reason:

AHU is not connected to router

Solution:

Connect AHU to the router using standard LAN cable. Enable DHCP option on the control panel: Menu->Settings (press and hold for 5 s) -> Connectivity -> DHCP. Wait for 10 min until AHU data will be synchronized with cloud server.

  • Possible reason:

Wi-Fi is not activated on the smartphone or it is connected to different Wi-Fi network, not same where router is.

Solution:

Activate Wi-Fi on the smartphone and connect (via Wi-Fi) to the same router as AHU is connected.

  • Possible reason:

AHU firmware is too old

Solution:

Check firmware version on the control panel: Menu-> Overview (press and hold for 10 s)

If needed, update firmware to version x.x.x.28 or later (refer to https://www.komfovent.com/wp-content/uploads/C6_update_EN.pdf )

  • Possible reason:

Control automation of the AHU does not support “Komfovent Control” app

Solution:

“Komfovent Control” app works only with AHU’s from the DOMEKT series, which are equipped with C6 or C6M automation control. “Komfovent Control” app does not support units from the other series or different type of automation control (for example C3, C4, C5).

  1. ID of the AHU is found using “Find ID on local network” option, but connection with AHU cannot be established.
  • Possible reason:

Smartphone does not have internet access

Solution:

Activate internet connection on the smartphone. Go to any web page and check that internet connection is active.

  • Possible reason:

Router does not have internet access

Solution:

Activate internet connection on the router (refer to the user manual of the router, contact network administrator or internet provider).

  • Possible reason:

DHCP is not enabled in the AHU settings

Solution:

Enable DHCP[1] on the control panel display: Menu->Settings (press and hold for 5 s) -> Connectivity -> DHCP

  • Possible reason:

AHU data is not synchronized with cloud server due to slow network/internet traffic.

Solution:

Turn off main power of AHU and of the router. After switching power back on, wait for 10 minutes for the data to synchronize.

  • Possible reason:

Connection to the AHU is blocked by router or network restrictions.

Solution:

Router and/or firewall settings must support DHCP and UDP protocol (refer to the user manual of the router, contact network administrator or internet provider).

  1. Cannot connect to AHU by scanning QR code from the sticker on the unit door.
  • Possible reason:

Smartphone does not have internet access

Solution:

Activate internet connection on the smartphone. Go to any web page and check that internet connection is active.

  • Possible reason:

Router does not have internet access

Solution:

Activate internet connection on the router (refer to the user manual of the router, contact network administrator or internet provider).

  • Possible reason:

Smartphone camera app was used to scan QR code

Solution:

QR code must be scanned directly from “Komfovent Control” app after “Read QR code” button was pressed.

  • Possible reason:

Incorrect or damaged QR code was scanned

Solution:

Scan QR code that is on the sticker located on the front door of the AHU (only for units manufactured from year 2020). Additional QR code can be found on the C6 controller board inside of the AHU. If QR code cannot be found or appears to be damaged – try to find device ID via WI-FI by choosing option “Find ID on local network”.

  1. “Komfovent Control” app asks for a user password. What it should be?

Solution:

If connecting with an app for a first time use password user

After connecting, it is recommended to change user password inside of the app (Menu->Settings->Change password) for security reasons. If changed, use new password when connecting next time.

  1. I have changed password inside of “Komfovent Control” app, but do not remember. What to do?

Solution:

Connect to the AHU via PC (refer to the Domekt user or installation manual). In the settings window there is a button, which resets “Komfovent Control” password. After reset, password is set to default user

  1. When connected “Komfovent Control” asks to change AHU name. What it should be?

Solution:

You can enter any AHU name you want (for example Home, Office or etc.). This name will be saved in the AHU list, thus if several units are controlled from the same phone, it will be easier to select exact unit from the device list in the app for connection.

[1] Do not enable DHCP if connectivity settings is already set-up according particular network requirements (for example: static external IP is set for AHU and port forward in the router is configured) and AHU has already been controlled via internet.
